Had a meeting in TST East today. It just gets worse.

20 years ago it looked unloved not it looks unloved and shabby.

The government spends billions of our money on new districts (New Territories East, Kai Tak, WCCD etc) but the last large urban mixed use area that was developed in Kowloon is still a failure.

What would you do to make TST East a better place to work / shop?

I like the al fresco dining and pub mix, and the start (or remnants?) of street food stalls ... ish. A lot more of that. It seems to have such an obvious potential for European style cafe and people watching area by day, and a tad lower menu prices than along salisbury road. Coffee trucks?

TST East is very nice, even the picture you posted, look at the LARGE gap between two buildings and some benches for people to sit down, drink a Club-7 beer. what more do you want.

The mix is OK but the whole area feels in-human and government housing estate from the 70's

The pedestrian areas need to be humanised a little

It's just that the office buildings are 50 shades of brown making the area look like it's stuck in the 70s, but I quite like the area, it's relatively less crowded than the other parts of TST.
