i am actually surprised how moderate these demands are. they are not asking for Stephen Lo or Carrie Lam to step down, they are not asking for more democracy, etc.

There are a few other more threatening calls out there on social media.

The 5pm deadline for answers came and went without as much as an acknowledgement by the CL777 administration.

Instead of engaging the protesters or even pro-democracy legislators, all government officials seem to have gone hiding, with even scheduled official engagements cancelled.

    Oh mother...

Government policy appears to be the usual "ignore the public's calls" which tends to be followed up with the "riot police response" to the "public inciting public to cause nuisance to the public", an imprisonable offense.

RTHK: Martin Lee urges protesters to remain peaceful

Veteran pro-democracy campaigner Martin Lee said on Thursday that he understands why people are calling for extradition bill protests to be stepped up, but he hopes those taking part won't resort to violence.

The founding chairman of the Democratic Party said protesters are frustrated because the government has ignored their demands, but they need to stick to peaceful action.

"The young people have won the admiration of the whole world because of the peaceful means they used. Now, there’s no need to resort to any force," Lee said.

"They cannot win and cannot bring any better result except it will tarnish all the efforts so far," he said, referring to the two massive protest marches earlier this month.

Lee told RTHK’s Priscilla Ng that he thinks the government is waiting for protesters to make a mistake.

All the government has to do is sit it out.

It was a badly written law that they tried to ram through LegCo and still no apology for tabling a badly written law or trying to ram it through. They have apologised for their deficiencies (of not explaining it properly - I guess) so far from sincere.

The government can't be changed so they don't have to do anything and time is on their side. If there is a body of people who have perfected doing nothing for very long periods of time then it is the HK Government.

four demands of the withdrawal of the bill, an inquiry into the police action on June 12, the reversal of the description that the protest was a 'riot' and the release without charge of all those arrested.
