HK Police: Throw a hissy fit .. and walk out of QE hospital

Nice ... did not think that their bosses would issued orders to abandon their posts.

The police force on Wednesday pulled officers out from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, sources told RTHK, amid an ongoing row over extradition bill protesters being arrested while they were seeking treatment earlier this month.

Sources said there were no officers staffing the post in the hospital, while a sign outside the room said if anyone needed assistance they should dial 999.

The Hospital Authority was believed to have expressed its concern over the move to the police force.

On Wednesday, the Junior Police Officers' Association hit out at hospital unions who had raised concerns over police action on June 12, saying if officers failed to look for crime suspects in hospitals they would be endangering public safety.

A statement issued by the association accused hospital staff of being ignorant of the law, and added that if doctors and nurses really believe the police are hindering their work, the Hospital Authority should stop asking for a police presence in hospitals.

Do the police have anybody who even tries to do PR or manage community relations?!

Everything they say or do seems designed to piss off the largest number of people possible.

I never knew police ego was so fragile. I guess they are a bunch of "snow-flakes"?

I am no longer surprised that the Government dept. never made a clear plan covering possible scenarios. the news does not mention the other hospitals?

Nice job of the police, with this statement they actually managed to invite the masses again to surround their HQ again.

They caught an officer posing as a demonstrator trying to convince the others to attack the headquarters... After he was caught and asked to identify himself, he retreated inside the headquarters.
