i mean do it once a week? but at least give people the chance to get out.
HK police could prevent protesters from going to the airport by check points at airport Express and Tung Chung bus terminal. Only allowing passengers, staff and peeps that have a purpose to go to the airport.

Exactly, after yesterday the police or security should have been checking for tickets or boarding passes at the airport and airport express from 5am this morning. Incompetent management.

    Cathay Pacific's stock returned 27% since 1-Jan-2000.
In twenty years, that's a compounded 1.3% per year.
I think Swire would have made more money with a bank deposit.
    Shareholders are very patient.

Not always an option as some destinations do not have daily flights. In any case, with the number of people having to rebook, getting on the next flight is, I understand, becoming increasingly problematic.

    Does that return include dividends?

In any case, I always thought airlines were like shipping companies - cyclical investments to trade rather than long term wealth generators?

Yes it does. That's total return. Therefore with dividends reinvested in the stock.

There are many buses from all over the city going to the airport with stops on the way and people could just walk there, so you probably would need to have a road block on the brigde leading to the airport and inspect passengers there.

I suspect this is being done on purpose by the government.
