Hi, our dog scraped her paws climbing up some steep slope. Are there antiseptic ointments I can get in the stores for dogs, or do I need a prescription from the vet?

Try giving Whiskers N Paws a call, they should be able to advise you if it's something that they or other pet stores carry. They are really helpful and can deliver all over HK. I have lotion from the vet that we use for these things. There is pink stuff called hibutane to dilute and then clean the wound with and then a white cream to help it heal - I don't remember the name.
'Betadine' or iodine solution for humans is fine for dogs until you see a vet (if necessary). It should be readily available at pharmacies. Wash her paws and check for foreign objects. If you use it, it can stain material.
Try Bag Balm. Not sure who carries it in HK, but Whiskers N Paws as AIP mentioned might be a good start. I've also used Animax cream, which was by prescription from the vet back in the 'States. Don't know if it's prescription or OTC here.
You may find that procuring the ointment is the easy part - keeping your pooch from licking it off her paws after it is applied is the hard part. I've tried to put baby socks on the dog before, with limited success.
