    The gov needs to shut these fkers down and penalize the owners.

    Probably because like most pet shop owners in Hong Kong, they don't care about animals.

    I agree. The HK Govt has a shameful record of animal protection.

    Just look at how many homeless dogs it kills each year.

    Look it how it allows the sale of pets by breaders to pet-stores.

    Look at how it treates the monkeys in captivity in the barron concrete cage in the Botanical park.

    We, as a society, need to stand up and demand that we get better and strong laws protecting animals in HK.

    Because Hong Kong is run for the conglomerates - not for it's citizens.

    While it is of course terrible that cats and dogs died in this fashion we need to remember there are plenty of human beings living in cages here too. That is - too my mind - a much more pressing issue.
