Typically when breeding dogs owned by two different owners, the female dog's owner will pay a stud fee to the male dog's owner, the male dog will do his thing and that is the exent of the male dog's/ male dog owner's involvement. Sometimes the owner of the male dog will contract for one or more of the puppies, once they are old enough to leave the mother. The dogs don't hang out together or have a "family". In fact, unless there is only a single breeding pair in the same household it is unlikely that the male dog knows that the puppies are his.
If you are going to breed make sure that your dog is healthy and has a good bloodline (which involves a series of tests from a vet to ensure that your dog isn't carrying any genetic diseases), that the mate also is healthy and has a good bloodline and that you are absolutely positive that you can place each puppy in a good home - not an easy task in HK where there are many, many homeless, abandoned and unwanted dogs. A vet should also be involved in the entire breeding process to ensure the health of the female dog and the puppies.
