Also worth noting - if you illegally employ a domestic helper to walk your dog there are other issues in addtion to breaking the law/ fines/ deportation. If the helper you employ is tied up with work for their own employer they may not be able to show up on schedule, or at all. If their employer lets them go, you are left without a dog walker and almost no notice - and they are not easy to replace. Most people I know who have hired part time dog walkers in HK have had disasterous results - walkers not showing up for days, walkers leaving HK on short notice, dogs getting lost, etc. Its not like the US where it is pretty easy to find a responsible neighborhood teenager, or an affordable professional dog walking service, to help out. Most people here are not used to, and are often afraid of, dogs and if you can't care for it yourself, or find suitable help in the form of a full time helper, you might want to reassess bringing the dog.
