More of a worry even thinking about leaving a puppy alone for 10-11 hours a day when the maximum recomended time is usually around 4 hours.

Think of how lonely the puppy will be and the behavioral patters it will pick up as a result.

It would be better for the puppy if you gave it to carang to look after, at least then it would be properly socialised.

Also worth noting - if you illegally employ a domestic helper to walk your dog there are other issues in addtion to breaking the law/ fines/ deportation. If the helper you employ is tied up with work for their own employer they may not be able to show up on schedule, or at all. If their employer lets them go, you are left without a dog walker and almost no notice - and they are not easy to replace. Most people I know who have hired part time dog walkers in HK have had disasterous results - walkers not showing up for days, walkers leaving HK on short notice, dogs getting lost, etc. Its not like the US where it is pretty easy to find a responsible neighborhood teenager, or an affordable professional dog walking service, to help out. Most people here are not used to, and are often afraid of, dogs and if you can't care for it yourself, or find suitable help in the form of a full time helper, you might want to reassess bringing the dog.

um well im not leaving her alone that long every day. Don't make me out to be a terrible dog owner. It's just 3-4 days a week that I might need a dog walker. My school unfortunately has 10 hour work days and I didn't want this but its not my choice and I do not want to leave my dog in America.

then, it looks like you won't have many legal options.

Just seeing what everyone had to say. I had a lot of people on another forum suggest WISH YOU WERE HERE. I've talked to them extensively. There are super expensive compared to other prices I've seen(not putting a price on my dog) Just saying, I was exploring other options before I made a decision. I've also asked around to make sure my dog gets plenty of socialization. I'm not an idiot dog owner. I know this will be a hard change and I want to make sure she is definitely taken care of. I definitely want to meet people with dogs to take her out with on my days off, or trying to find places to take her as well. So obviously any info is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know any great places near to take her to play with other dogs on my day off, etc.
And how is the best way to get a dog from one place to another.. just taxi and walking? I heard that I can't take them on the ferries, subway, buses, etc.

Your most reasonable choice will be to come here and hire a part time helper to come and take your dog out. You wont be able to do this until you arrive. This could be a teenager from your building or a part time Domestic Helper (not legal).

Stop stressing and get here first - other pet owners have done it, i'm sure you'll be able to sort it out as well.

Paying a firm like WishYouWereHere to take your dog out for walks would be silly IMO.

I know this! That's why I didn't agree to use them. Did you say you had a recommendation?
