You dont need to waste money on paying someone to do anything to your tank, if its fresh water, just buy a siphon hose, buy a NH/CH aqua reliever, add it to the new water in a bucket, just do 10-30% water change every 2 weeks, buy a magnetic scrubber, clean the filters and you'll be ok.

Pretty much exactly what we do for our 30 gallon tank. (although we do the partial water change once a month rather than every 2 weeks). When we have had to do a proper clean, we've just used the bathroom.
