Don't worry Mangosteen people seem to need to let off wind, most of it pongs and most of it is nonsense. If anything to the post before yours motor bikes should be banned from the country parks if they're not already, I've never seen one myself but certainly would prefer to see (and hear) a turd.

Most Europeans or expats do seem to know what basic responsible animal ownership is about but there are those who don;t have a clue too. Yes unfortunately it's often a completely different story for a lot of locals for some reason. I mean honestly someone who brings their dog all the way from another country to Hong Kong is likely to responsible. If you had brought a St. Bernard then fair game. You will see many completely unsuitable for our climate dog breeds here, mostly owned by locals but not exclusively. Chows are a favourite followed closely by those other dogs bred for life almost exclusively on ice, those Husky's and their many local derivatives. Insane but true.

Dogs have been known to keel over and die on hikes in our humidity and heat, this made headlines here when it happened rather publicly on a busy weekend trail, yes they were Labradors and it was about five years ago.

I've stopped my car in summer a few times this year alone to try and stop someone walking a fat pug (for example) at midday with no water up a long hill that I regularly drive up. I usually just offer some water and try and chat them into going back.

Me Me Me, I have 3, adopted from moron previous owners, walked only during early hours and evenings. Always carry lots of water when on walks, AC electricity bills through the roof, driven around in a sexy Toyota Alphard

Every summer you will hear some sad story of dogs dying from heat stroke, this year a golden retriever died on SK waterfront, a Caucasian mastiff also died there a few days later. Some owners are just irresponsible.

In country parks? Umm, no! Shit (including the canine variety) are part of nature. I'm happy to pickup after my dogs in the city - thats not going to happen in country parks.

i reckon u right to a point.. if the dog is shittin on the main thorough fare then i reckon shiftin it to the bushes at the side would be nicer to your fellow mankind

If the dog has shit in a bush/ grass out the way abit then so what.

probably should file this under TMI but I have personally been caught short in the woods here... an laid some bear like substances - i was about 45 mins from the nearest loo - its hard to hike wit ya legs crossed... cummon I'm not alone - I bet Grunts laid some logs in his lifetime
