We plan on bringing a couple 20lbs bags of dry dog food in our checked luggage. Do you think we will have problems going thru customs?

None what so ever ... just last week I brought back some fresh lobsters and calms from the USA so dog food should be no problem.

what kind of dog food are you bringing back? You can almost get everything kind in Hong Kong.

He eats prescription food called Royal Canin IVD Potato & Venison. When I visited HK, I checked w/a vet that carried Royal Canin & he didn't have that kind. But I think he didn't really understand me. We're bringing over 2 large bags so tat should be enough to transition him to a new food (mixing it). My vet recommended prescription Hills w/1 protein & 1 carbohydrate source.

Our Vet, Valley Vet in happy valley stocks royal canin and so do lots of other vets in Hong Kong. Maybe they'll have your type.
