Fastest way to Sha Tin from HK Island with pet

I want to take my pet ferret to the Tai Wai Vet Clinic all the way in Sha Tin and I live in Happy Valley. Since ferrets are weak against the heat I'm very worried about staying out too long. I was wondering about everyone's experience with public transport when bringing their pets on board with carriers, especially the MTR. I've seen a few dogs and cats on the buses but never noticed any pets on the MTR. Are people just really good at hiding them or just avoid doing it completely?
    Thanks

I think there's a no pet policy on MTR/Buses but people hide them well.

You can probably call a cab and have it waiting for you outside your place so no need to walk to a taxi stand.

GoGo van also works, 130 from HV to Tai Wai incl. pet. not including tunnel fee.

Pets are illegal in Public Transport, but plenty of people get away with it by hiding them. I've transported a Pug without getting caught

If you're not a law breaker type, then take pkboy's suggestion; jump on a cab or van. You should not hit above $200 each way unless you get stuck in a very big traffic jam.

I've seen a man carrying a dog in a carrier on the mtr once and only got caught on his way out of the station. The mtr staff chases him and really bollocked him, but not sure if he got fined or not.

Best bet is to hire a man with a van, or just a normal taxi and pay the extra hk$50 pet fee.
