Does anyone know where to buy or adopt an Italian Greyhound in Hong Kong?

The animal charities where you can look include SPCA, Hong Kong Dog Rescue, Kirsten's Zoo, Linda Dog Cat House. Hong Kong has many lovely dogs in need of homes and as a result thousands get put down. At the same time, too, the breeding industry is poorly to non-regulated, meaning many bad breeders exist who are keeping animals in appalling conditions and producing unhealthy animals with no oversight. The situation is pretty bad, so I hope you'll focus on adoption. Sometimes specific breeds become available through the charities, especially when there's a prosecution case against a breeder. So keep your eyes out.

But in my opinion, an animal, a pet is not a fashion statement, its a living being that'll love you unconditionally for the care you give it. As such, animals and pets -- when you have a loving home to offer them -- should not be bought or bred unnaturally for our amusement. Once we erratic animal abuse and homeless animals in need, then we can consider breeding companion animals, but we're a long way from that. For sure, until we stop killing dogs in our own city, I think it's unethical to buy or breed dogs.

I am aware of the dog situation here in Hong Kong but having an Italian Greyhound has always been a dream of mine. Does anyone maybe have some Italian Greyhound puppies?

You're barking up the wrong tree here...

    What I would do:

    1.) Google translate 'Greyhound'.
2.) Change my Facebook profile pic. to a Greyhound.
3.) Use the translation to search Facebook for what appears to be two groups devoted to Greyhounds. Ask to join...your new profile picture may help you!
4.) It seems like most people import them and the groups are small compared.to, say, the Labrador clubs.

Try calling The Kennel Club of Hong Kong

    Good luck!

Actually, since greyhounds are used for racing, perhaps even internationally you can adopt one. I was thinking of Macau -- don't they do dog racing? Perhaps the animal charities in Macau might be a better bet than HK, like this one: Anima Macau | Anima Macau. Seems there are lots of international greyhound rescues, too. In any case, perhaps you can still write an email to HK SPCA and ask about this specific breed. Or look into some animal welfare charities in China.

Anyway, dreams and reality are two different things. You've also made me realize how broadly the word "aware" can be used... But I hope your dream can indeed become true and in a way that helps the welfare of some animals in need.
