700 for each consultation. 350 for subsequent checkups after initial consultation as long as its for the same issue. Cost of surgeries depends on the procedure. They will give you a quotation.

The hospital is also 24h so you can go visit up to 11pm if your buddy is staying overnight. Usually they'll call you up in the morning to give you updates.

Let's be careful with wild animals given the destruction the world has already experiened with unconventional pets. What is wrong with a dog or cat or goldfish?

A goldfish would technically be an exotic pet.

Leopard geckos aren't endangered and have been domesticated for 30 years. I don't think OP is contributing to the destruction and capture of animals in the wild.

A lot of non-conventional pets that are domesticated are classified into exotics such as rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, ferrets .... Given the size of the apartments in Hong Kong I totally understand why one would opt for smaller pets than the conventional dog or cat.

I think the SPCA also will deal with reptiles as their shelters include them. Their fees tend to be reasonable, you just need to join first, also reasonable.

700 dollars for consulation, then drugs cost on top, that's not cheap at all

Never said it was cheap. Honestly don't know what other clinics charge for exotics. I remember going around to all sorts of clinics before I found one (tai wai) that actually looks at Exotics and had a vet that was a board certified specialist. Sure I could have done more research but after 6 years of going to the same clinic I've never once had a bad experience so to me, it's worth it.

Yeah it's expensive but it's my own fault for buying an unusual pet. I don't feel rushed or have to wait hours like at the private doctors clinic. I'm happy to pay that much money for the quality of care and service that they provide.

the one i went to, Neighbor Vet Clinic in Kwun Tong does indeed has the qualification to handle reptiles including tortoise, terrapins, geckos and chameleons, more importantly, the vet and service provide is second to none, consulation was at HK$380, drugs, in this case eye drops, HK$100, the appointment was around 25 mins, there was no waiting time, even arranging appointment was done via whatsapp, the only issues, was that there was no car parking facilities and me and my family had walk 10 minutes from APM mall, also i presume that the Vet probably does not have native english capicity but can communicate in english to a larger extent.

The clinic sounds great! OP could check that clinic out as well. I guess for reptiles there are more vet clinics that are able to treat them? It would be nice to have a database of the list of vet clinics based on price per consultation, species they are capable of looking at and specialists.
