Tung Choi Street north for hamsters & rabbits (and goldfish).

During covid here, all hamsters were confiscated and culled by the Govt, by the way.

Pretty sure some rabbits too, an entire thread about it, leading to hamster import ban. From that era just check the rules if something weird still lingers on.

My resume probably looked too good so I "dumbed it down" a bit yesterday to look more manageable. In Thailand, schools often actually prefer straight off the plane tourists they can push around with a lower salary. I'm sure it's the same here.

From my experience, Thailand has horrible, strict visa laws. It was a total rat race to get a one year visa. It's easier to get transit and tourist visas now, but I got scammed by a language school and visa agent during the pandemic and I can't go back for three years. I'm talking with lawyers, but that's another topic. Anyway, it wasn't my fault by the way. So.... I'm much happier to be here in HK.

At the moment, I'm teaching online. Not having to deal with crazy visa laws that I've experienced is giving me peace of mind. Some said I could also try Macau or Shen zhen for sponsorship. It's an option. If I have to, I'll get another 90 day stamp and keep looking. After I get a proper work visa, I'll work on relocating my pets. I have Thai friends who will help me get them relocated.
Hi, I am mostly in Taiwan these days but seems to perhaps be a better situation here and can apply to the golden visa if you have whatever qualifications they stipulate. Not sure of the details because I am here on a work visa. Pretty sure the teacher situation is better here as well and the cost of living is much less than Hong Kong. Can apply to jobs and visas while you are in Hong Kong and, if you need another 90 days, come over here for a week or so and check it out, won't break the bank.

Oh yeah, I heard about that during the pandemic. So sad. Are you sure ALL the hamsters were confiscated? I heard some say they just going to hide their pets. If a warning like that happens again, I'll definitely bounce before it happens.

Thanks for the advice. I might actually look into teaching in Macau or Taiwan. Getting a teaching job here so far seems impossible. In Thailand, just looking caucasian and applying almost gets you a guaranteed job. I definitely have enough experience. It seems like schools here don't want to deal with teachers who don't already have a visa. LOL
