    UK Weimaraner to HK

I will be moving to HK and want to bring my 10mth old Weimaraner. I wondered if anybody has a medium/large dog and how they find it in HK? Are there good areas where the dogs can run off lead? Has anybody seen a Weimaraner in HK? What are good areas to live in for dogs? Appreciate any advice whatsoever!

Everything you've asked has been answered previously on this forum. Try searching through some of the previous posts.

In general, HK is a very dense city and living spaces are small unless you have a very large housing budget. A weimer, being such an active, large dog, would likely have a hard time in a small HK apartment unless you have a lot of time to take it out for exercise. If you don't live close to a country park there is almost nowhere to legally (or safely) let a dog run off its lead.

I have a couple of large dogs that I brought with us when we moved to HK. Although we live in a largish place, the hardest part about living here has been keeping them healthy and exercised properly, but it is possible with a fair bit of effort.

Now and again I see a Weimaraner which is extremely overweight, so obviously doesn't get enough exercise and too much food. Like hello_there says, questions you are asking have already been talked about so you'll find the answers if you do a search.

    Dear Delano
I have sent you a message, check your inbox.
I brought my Weimaraner to HK when he was 6 months old from the UK, he is now 10 years old. All of the Weimaraner owners I know look after their dogs well, walk them and exercise them properly, I haven't seen any overweight ones.

    A 'nice' response

Thank you, how nice to have a civilised response as compared to the other two! Nice to know there are some special Weimaraner owners out there!
