A Rottie found as stray desperately looking for a home [Urgent]

I found a Rottie /Doberman cross as a stray on Lamma Island exactly 3 weeks ago. I contacted a number of animal welfare organisations at first instance hoping that they are willing to take her in but everywhere is fully packed. The dog stayed initially on my rooftop and when I realised that it might take longer than I participated to find a potential adopter or organisation that is willing to take over. I moved the dog inside once the advised quarantine period is over. This dog however doesn't get on well with my own dogs (I have 3 others), as she desperately wants all my attention and would growl at my other dogs and pick fights with them when they try to approach me.

The situation got a bit out of hand last week when this dog got into a severe fight with one of my own. My dog was injuried and is now isolated from this dog, my dog is now scared to be around this dog and is depressed about not being able to be in the same room with me.
This is heart-breaking for me and I am on the edge whenever I need to leave home now. I have spent all day Sunday calling ALL of the rescue centres I know of with no luck. A home is urgently needed for this dog. Please pm or call me on 69 31 - 87 53 if you think you can offer this girl a home.

This Rottie-cross is playful and affectionate but do not get on well with some dogs (no sign of aggression otherwise), female, a young adult, weighs about 50-60lbs with completely docked tail and un-cropped ears, Found without collar/harness but very friendly towards all humans (grown-ups and minors) but probably not advised to be homed with very young children.

Please contact me ASAP if you think you can offer this girl a home, I will have to resort to sending this dog to AFCD if a home is not found by mid-day tomorrow.

Please help save this dog, many thanks in advance

Have you tried contacting Sally at HKDR? or Kirsten at LAP? I love big dogs, especially rotties and dobes, but I already have two dogs

I tried SPCA, HKDR, LAWC, LAP, SAA, CAF, HKAAC and RCAF, all of them refuse to take the dog in. There has been a lot of abandonment over the past few months due to the economic downturn and all rescue centres are packed. I hesitated at first in contacting SPCA, as it is a well known fact that they are not a real no kill organisation, animals that don’t get adopted soon enough get put to sleep. But I called anyway as the situation in my home is getting more and more out of hand and I can tell you, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. It took me forever to get through, I left two voicemails with no respond, when I finally get through after days of trying, I was told in a very cold voice that they are full, I tried to explain my situation to her anyway and she was basically saying that Rottweiler is an aggression breed that they probably won’t take even if spaces are available and that I should send the dog to the government kennels straight away and HKAAC asked me to find sponsor for a dog myself so that the dog’s expenses are paid for until an adopter shows up. @@
My dog situation is now critical and I’m about to have a nervous breakdown anytime, I am running out of options and am sending her down to AFCD – the government kennels. I don’t want to think about the consequence of that…………..
Most dogs (unless a lost report has been filed or microchipped) have four days to live in the government kennels unless an animal welfare organisation wants to step in and transfer the dog to their organisation and as I mentioned previously that all rescue centres are full so we are looking at a next to zero chance.
4 days, that is pretty much it, so I pray for a miracle that a potential adopter will show up within this short period of time.
Meanwhile, please consider donating to reputation animal welfare organisations like HKDR etc. so that they will have more resources for animals in similar situations to be saved. Asking you friends to donate instead of getting your presents for birthday and Christmas would be a good starting point.

Please forward this to anyone within your personal network who may be interested in adopting and help save this dog.

Oh deliriousil, my heart breaks for the rottie. Yes it has been a tough few months with so many dogs being abandoned but I really can't take in another dog right now, having adopted one from HKDR 3 weeks back.

Is it possible to keep her on the rooftop for now, so your dogs wouldn't get into a fight with her?

Flubber trust me, this is heartbreaking for me too. For some reasons my neighbourhood is a fairly popular spot for people from other areas to dump their dogs. This is the fourth abandoned dog I am trying to home and I have never faced so much difficulties with all centres being full, conflicts between dogs and a complete lack of interest.

I am working freelance at the moment, I have turned down all job offer this week trying to find this poor girl a suitable home. I spent the last four days calling and writing e-mails to various people and organisations all day long.

I just had yet another fight in my flat today, the exact moment I stepped into my flat along with one of my dogs after a long walk.
Isolating the Rottie girl on the rooftop is not an viable solution as the dog is now very attached to me and seemingly has some sort of separation anxiety and would bark for hours if being left on the rooftop (I had two complaints already). I installed a canopy on my rooftop specifically for this girl a fortnight ago but it was a very bad installation job and it had to be taken down so my rooftop is not sun/water proof at the moment, making it a terrible shelter for dogs.

I had a call from someone who said he may be interested in adopting but I am a little reserved about the guy so I am asking if he would agree to pay for neutering and have it done before picking the dog up and he hasn't called me back yet. But since there is a chance of adoption, I will hold out for 2 more days before sending this dog to AFCD.
I am moving 2 of my own dogs to my rooftop for the night to avoid further attacks but this cannot be a long term solution and if that doesn't work out, I will send the Rottie girl to a pet shop for boarding first thing tomorrow morning (which is a very cruel living environment for dogs in general anyway but it will be the only option) until I get the chance to meet up with the guy who called.

Meanwhile, please keep help looking for a home for this girls, the girl will be brought to AFCD if a suitable home cannot be found within the next 40 something hours.

I have just posted a photo and info of her on my facebook. If i could take her i would, but i have 5 dogs at the mo (3 i am fostering), and they are all very small (9 week old min pin, chihuahuas etc...) and that's already quite the handful in a small apartment.!

Anway i hope something good can come out of this situation..but good on u for keeping her this long, most ppl wouldn't have tried to help her in the fisrt place.

The guy who called and expressed adoption interests, turned out to be at best a hoax if not an ill-minded trader from puppy-mill.

If nothing comes up soon enough, I'll have no choice but to send the dog to AFCD on friday afternoon.

But please give it a last try and keep forwarding this, if provding a home for her yourself is not a viable option.
