Potential Foster Home Needed

I just got an urgent assignment to move to Singapore for 3 months. I am trying to decide what is the best optionsfor my pomeranian pup.

1. If I bring her to Singapore she has to be quarantine for 1 month and she will only stay for 2 additional months before going back to Hong Kong.

2. I leave her here with a foster family. Anyone interested in having a puppy as a companion? I will provide food, her house and dog walking facilities. Must be clean, reliable and dog walking family though.

3. Leave her at a pet hotel for 3 months.

Anyone has been in a similar situation before? I want what's best for her.

My recommendation is to leave her with a foster family in HK.

The quarantine in Singapore is very out of the way (it is at Sembawang and is quite a long walk from the MRT station) so getting there to visit your pooch will be difficult. Also, the Singapore AVA (equivalent to the HK AFCD) has a long waitlist for a quarantine kennel so you may not get your pooch into SG till your work assignment is almost over!

One more thing about the quarantine facilities in Singapore: it is clean and has very helpful kennel workers, but visiting hours are:
Mon - Fri: 4:00 -6:00 pm
Sat: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

If you work full-time, I doubt you can visit your dog on a weekday.

As a 3rd option, if your dog's rabies injection is current and you can hold leaving for a month, you could bring your dog into Singapore without quarantine.

You need to get a rabies blood test first.

Not sure it's that suitable in your case but worth a thought - this is a new regulation btw HK and Singapore so thought it would be worth you knowing.
