My girlfriend and I are looking to get a husky puppy and we have done some searches for breeders but can only find tuen in Australia. Does anyone know of some reliable pet stores or breeders serving the HK market? Thanks for your suggestions!

there was a beautiful husky at the kowloon spca about a month ago! why go through a breeder or a puppy mill when you can give a lovely dog/puppy a home?

Huskies are great dogs, but why would you want to subject them to the heat and humidity of HK?

Have you been told that there is a 4 year-old female husky with great temperament and characteristic at HKDR that is waiting for a home. Please consider giving her a chance of a real home.

Call the previous number to arrange an appointment if you can give this lovely girl a home.

There is also a 4 year-old male husky @ PFL SPCA
    and a 2.5 year-old male husky @ LAP

Most of the time, dogs are surrendered due to no fault of their own and 4 year-old is still relatively young for the breed.
Most adult rescue dogs are housebroken with known temperament and have had a series of health check before they are homed.

Having said that, the responsibility of dog ownership should not be taken lightly, please make sure you have the time to exercise your dogs on a daily basis, especially true for an active breed like Husky also be prepared to have your air-con on about 9 months a year under the humidity of HK.

    Don't buy, please adopt.

Sleuth, so your idea would be to get a hairless dog? Pretty sure that idea doesn't hold water...

Maybe somewhere between the husky and the hairless.

i know i'm sounding like a broken record, but an acclimatised husky has less risk of heat-stress than many other breeds, which are often short-coated. The reasons for this is that heat loss is not just to do with the coat, but with the efficiency of the other more important methods of temperature regulation in dogs, eg panting...
