Hi everyone,

I have a pet crisis that I could really use some input on. I've lived in HK part-time for the last 2 years. I work in Shekou (Shenzhen) from Monday through Thursday or Friday, and spend weekends here in HK. I also travel periodically to other parts of Asia, and back to the US.

When I moved over from the US, I left my 2 cats with my parents since I didn't see how I could take care of them under my current living situaton (i.e., living in 2 different places). My parents are now moving from NY to Arizona, and are not willing to take my cats with them. So I'm forced to figure out what to do with my cats now. I don't know of any friends or family who are interested in taking them right now, so the only thing I can think of is to put them up for adoption, which I hate to do.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what might be done? I still don't see how I could bring them over to either Shekou or HK since I'll be missing from either place for several days each week. I also understand from reading the threads on bringing pets over that most HK landlords don't take kindly to having pets, and my flats over here are pretty small, especially compared to the big American flats and houses they're used to living in. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. These 2 guys have been my pals for years, and I want them to have good lives no matter what happens.

BTW, I spent the last couple hours reading all the threads on here related to bringing pets to HK, so I'm pretty clear on what's involved.

Thanks a lot,
- Greg
