    Shipping

Can anyone recommend a company that ships from UK to HK. Im looking for an idea of the cost of sending my personal effects exlcuding furniture and large items over.
any suggestions would help me decide how much of my junk to donate to charity.
    thanks

    hi,
Just a warning, beware of the hidden charges. The frieght fowarders may sting you big bucks to process, customs formalites, etc. I have been burnt, I had to pay additional fees
that amounted to more than the UK-HK shipping fee, for the
    HK handling, customs element.

Both air and sea cargo handling areas are a long away out of town,
plus the hassle of hiring vans etc. I would chose door-to-door
all in charge, at least you find out the true charge up front.

    cheers,

I used Allied Pickfords a few years back to ship some boxes. Much cheaper if you can pack your own stuff in your own boxes, we got a major discount for that. Cannot remember the price for shipping but was reasonable and everything turned up undamaged a few weeks later

depends where you live.. but we used John Mason - they have branch in Liverpool and one in London - did the all in packing in UK -> unpacking in HK end to end service, as part of a relocation deal though.
