well, lowlight, if you hate me then i guess this forum isn't the venue for our discussion. should i take your last post as an attempt at looking for other means of communication?
you're obviously incapable of conducting a debate without turning it personal and resorting to hate tactics. and by the way, i do not need a history lesson from you, and unlike you i do not fall back on insults and threats, i have intellect.
btw if the best you can manage to support your case is wikipedia, than it's not much of a case at all. to indulge you a bit further, the negative side of colonialism is known. yet, people living and working in HK today are enjoying an upside of that era, to say otherwise is hypocrisy.
it was also suggested here that prejudice towards westerners is understandable in light of colonialism, which means that any westerner is seen as a colonialist, even today.
maybe you should pay a visit to Monterey Park, CA where 80 percent of the population is now E Asian. it is not seen as colonialism even though the community is quite insular and the degree of interaction with your so-called original inhabitants is debatable. then again in a pluralist society it doesn't matter, anyway.
and asian1, with all good intentions, i'm done talking to you until you get a new pair of glasses. IT WASN'T ME THAT POSTED ABOUT PEOPLE NOT SITTING NEXT TO ME ON THE BUS, and i think the original poster actually mentioned the MTR. and i am not from the UK. you assuming it is indicative of your attitude: you're here to pick fights, not discuss anything. you don't even care enough to read what i post.
beyond that, let the personal attacks and ganging up continue. every time you do that i giggle and score another triumph in the name of opinion and expression.
