How much was your relocation package?

I'm interested in what relocation packages are CURRENTLY being offered (no harks back into distant glory days of excess!) either to you if you've moved on the last year or so, or what you know your company offers. If possible to tot up the equivalent value and note in the poll that would be great.

Also - are relocation packages:
a) standard for everyone?
b) vary by level of employee?
c) vary by internal transfer vs external hire?
d) vary by who initiated the job offer (ie employee approached company vs company sought out employee)?

And - how big is your company? small local firm vs large US bank? etc etc.

Any insights appreciated.

I am in the process of moving countries and was asked to move and it is to a "hardship location" so got:

1. look-see flights for the family
2. shipping container
3. temp housing in host
4. flights to destination for final move
5. professional firm to apply for visas
6. tax advice
7. financially: relo lump-sum, hardship allwnc and cost of living allwnc plus option of flights or cash in lieu

Not surprising depending on his seniorty and the indusctry he works in (ie relative senior management staff at our firm gets housing in excess of 100K a month, insurance, tuition, flights... and in most cases tax free because they somehow manage to spend less than 180 days/year in HK with multiple biz trip and holidays)

And before I get flamed, I do not say it is right or wrong (although I find it OK if the guys are good and indeed bring value to the firm).

Exactly same here. My husband travels a LOT also, not quite sure if he will spend more or less than 180 days a year in HK though. He negotiated a net salary with his firm so they handle the taxes.

Service Apartment was arranged by the company - something below 20k as I asked for 1 that was 20k and was declined.

- Service of a relocater / moving service company e.g. Pricoa

- pay for the agents fee when renting first place
