    where to rent?/Cycling

1)I'm a UK soon-to-be expat looking to rent a place in HK. Looking probably Mid-Levels but flexible. Main thing is that I'm single and so want more space/views/balcony for my buck and less crappy gym and children's play area etc. Also interested in a great gym nearby with spinning sessions.
Any help on non-rabbit hutch options gratefully received.
    2) I'm also a big road cyclist and wonder if anyone can shed any light at all on any road cycling anywhere in the territory: timetrials especially. Tks

    Lantau?

I live on Cheung Chau (island), a darn sight cheaper than much of HK, and with decent sized place, overlooking trees, sea, and other islands. Half hour ferry ride from Central (also, some slower ferries just under an hour).

If being over water from city wouldn't alarm you (to many folk, seems islands like this are v remote), maybe have a look at Lantau, esp around Mui Wo - an advantage being you could cycle there, with good highway along Lantau s coast, plus road by water catchment, even mtn biking if you do this at all.
(Also, consider New Territories - like Sai Kung; again, bit cheaper for non-shoeboxes, plus miles of roads for cycling [HK Island not so good for cycling I believe - city roads, traffic; "rural" roads mostly busy; without own vehicle maybe frustrating taking bike to good places - guess that cycling assoc link will be huge help here])
