In the companies that I worked for in Europe, I used to do breakfast at home...as everyone does. Here everyone eats in the company in the morning!

Then you either ate a very early breakfast or had a really cushy civil service type job with late, 8.30am+ starts.

"As everyone does"? Lots of people each breakfast at their desks in the UK (going by your user name you're from the UK). That's why lots of bigger companies have their restaurants open selling breakfast to staff and shops (Pret etc) do a roaring trade in takeaway porridge, croissants, fruit etc. I'm loving being able to get a bacon & egg muffin from my current workplace and sit happily munching at my desk. At least 50% of the office are doing the same thing on a Fri morning.

    Back to little things.

5 yo Microwave oven door breaks Wed. night. Call Panasonic Thurs morning. Repaired Fri. morning for $380.

I thought that was really good service.

Try that in London, especially over the Xmas period!

Try it in some of the NT areas. France would be like a picnic compared to the creaking bohemoth that is PCCW.
