Cost of Living & Salary Negotiation

Hi, I wld like to ask if there is any website or resource that provides a guide on the monthly/annual salary of various jobs?

Also, would a single person be able to survive, on a modest living, with a monthly salary of HK$14,000, including rental for a one-room apartment (around the range of HK$5,000)?

Other than this monthly salary, any other components that I shld raise during salary negotiation? Thanks.

    Hi,
DO you know if such things are also available for Macao (salary index)? If yes, I would be very interested to have that info,

    Thanks a lot,
    Mat

    Hi, thanks everyone out there.

Checked the rent in HK, seems very expensive compared to where I come from (Singapore)

For the same $ amount you will get more space in Singapore, but that's why it's like comparing apples and oranges.

Hi Shri, leaving fines aside (I'm a law-abidding citizen ), what kind of taxes can I save then?

In Singapore, I've paid about S$450 personal taxes per annum, which estimated around HK$2,025. Well, in HK$, doesn't seems much savings per annum.

    Is apartment sharing common?
