Anyone in the Film Industry?

Just curious, anyone on this forum either has jobs or connections (or maybe just serious interest) in the local film industry? I'm a film scholar and historian who's interested in pursuing opportunities in the HK film industry, mainly in the screenwriting, producing, or even financing area. I'm aware of the fact that the industry is currently in a major slump and is generally nepotistic or connection-based, however I still believe there may be some opportunities for "outsiders" like me. I'm thinking of traveling to HK this year to attend a few film and entertainment conventions to find out more information, but if anyone is interested in discussing on this matter, feel free to respond to this thread or email me personally.
