Housing Allowances dependent on job seniority..

I'm wondering if anyone might be able to provide some insight into possible housing allowances offered by banking / finance firms ?

I have been told by a few people that there is a general level to expect within the industry for mid-senior positions, for example a VP getting $30k/month, SVP $40k/month.

I'm starting my HK job search from the UK and any information would be really helpful. I don't have the option of moving with my current firm, and the job hunt is going fine so far but I'd like to gather as much info as I can.

    Thanks !

I think some mid-senior position expats are getting like 80K housing allowance, sometimes we see people asking on this site, "Were going to get 80K per month housing allowance, where do u think we can live".

It really depends on the bank. Some have a housing allowance at VP levels , some don't. One that I know that does, gives a flat 30 (local hire- expat packages are probably quite different). However, isn't the form of comp somewhat less relevant than total comp?
