Getting around town - elevated walkways and directions

I've gotten lost a few times trying to find a place that is located on an elevated walkway, while iPhone and Google maps tell me I'm walking in front of it. Sometimes the stairs to the walkway are around the corner so I'm wandering around lost.

Is there any website or app that takes the various levels that shops are located on in HK into account and tells you where you need to go up or down stairs to find the spot?

Surely the address has the floor # included?

This is 2015. We should all have hoverboards and 3D maps by now!

The place I was trying to find today has address as G/F. But it was one level up from street level!

Stop using your phone and look up for a change. There are plenty of signs around to find your way.

They worked just fine long before smartphones arrived.

Try Google Street View before visiting?

I'm not sure if you are aware, phone apps do turn by turn directions by voice. I have the map directions in my earphones and my eyes on the street.

And you're right, no one ever got lost before smart phones.

Get to roughtly the right address, switch off whatever map I'm using on the phone, and then blunder around for a bit until I find the place. That's what I do here. And in most other congested cities.

Even if there was a magic app, it'd only be available in Chinese anyway. And I strongly suspect there wouldn't be an app, because the vast majority of people looking for addresses would be able to ask other people questions in Cantonese.
