    HK$1,000 Notes

Are HK$1,000 Notes still frowned upon/not preferred?

Dont get stuck with them. Your banker will be the only one really interested in them....

It is a legal tender which is unwelcomed due to higher of getting counterfeits as compared with $500 notes.

Deposit it back to cash deposit machine if you get one.

Good idea! I guess only the MTR CS Centres will accept that rather than those 7-11 or Circle K convenient stores.

Yeah they are a pain, but I usually ask when I go in a shop or restaurant and I've been able to use them most of the time, even if the sign says no $1000 notes.

I actually got several $1000 notes a few days ago from an ATM. I used one straight away at a 7-11 store without any hassle.

They should accept it as long as they have counterfeit scanners. But yeah, I typically also break it by topping up my Octopus at 7-11.
