Wonder what will happen to all their bikes now. Maybe Ofo will buy them?

Big surprise that they survived so long!

I find the idea behind it quite good, but the quality of bikes is pathetic. Good riddance. I hope they clear the mess the created and remove all their crap bikes.

Indeed. In fact there ought to be a share-bike-company arm just for pulling dumped bikes out of creeks, streams and ravines.

Bike-sharing business model won’t work in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is not a bicycle-friendly city; very few residents would use bikes for their daily commute. They only ride bikes on weekends as a recreational activity.
Mobike and Ofo have yet to generate any profit because despite the gigantic size of the Chinese market, they have to contend with high maintenance costs. The two startups manage to survive because Alibaba and Tencent view them as key offline portals to gain more customers.

I disagree. There is a noticeable difference in quality between gobee and ofo bikes (and app). In that one seems to work while the other does not! If gobee had been better, it might have lasted longer. I use them (both) a fair bit - enough to miss them if they vanish entirely. Indeed, the hike I scheduled for tomorrow on the Olympic trail on Lantau is predicated on there being an Ofo available for use to cycle the last 4km in the event my tortoises are slower than expected as I have a flight to catch!

How did you find out about it? I only found out on here! (And I use them!)

EDIT - ok scrap that. I just realised the email is unread in my inbox. Must have just missed it.
