The only point made was that DHs are not necessarily uneducated just because of the job they do. Simple fact.
Whoa, why all this spite and defensiveness? All I meant to do was to point out the absurdity of people talking about DHs with degrees as if it's something super extraordinary. I don't think DHs and sex workers belong in the same "basket" - in fact I don't think you can ever put two groups of people (or even people within the same profession) into the same "basket". The logic of that escapes me.

The reason I put sex workers into my reply was because I was talking about this thread with a couple of guys I know (sad innit...), and one of them commented that he's met these DHs moonlighting in Wanchai who have got degrees. That's why it slipped into my reply, and I regret that anyone felt the need to read anything more into what I said.

And no, if you've met me you'll realise very quickly that I'm far from racist, and that I don't have a "preference" over people based on where they're from or what they do. I make my judgment based on how a person is like.

I did offer the OP my view on her original question. It's just whenever people don't get what I'm saying, I feel the need to "clarify". Bad habit, perhaps.

And Hull, sorry to disappoint but the husband hasn't "dallied" with anyone - and if you ever meet me (I'm sure you wouldn't want to) you'll see why he wouldn't need to either. And you are the one who's always implied that DHs' qualifiactions are more impressive for the reason that they are DHs.

OP: I did answer your question, and apologies on behalf of everyone for hijacking your thread!

Anyway being educated and going to university are two very different things and not always necessarily related. Mostly I see these institutions as a filter to weed out a certain part of society and it demonstrates perseverance more than intelligence.

90% of the learning I consider valuable has not been in a classroom.

Anyway, having met her, seeing you guys describe her as "white and middle aged" is, frankly, hilarious.
No I said that many DHs would find it offensive not that I valued working girls below DHs and you would have clearly understood that. You are wriggling in order to defend a friend. She did it deliberately and totally without reason from the comments in the thread. I suggest you go through her previous comments. Still as has been noted before, people will find plenty of people like themselves in Hong Kong so each to their own. Judge people by their friends as they say.

There are plenty of sex workers in Wanchai with degrees too. If someone offered me 20-30 times what I could possibly earn in my home country to go and have sex with people in another country then I would be sorely tempted, so I have no problem at all with the women in Wanchai doing what they are doing. (I'm talking here about the ones who are there entirely of their own free will, not the ones who are trafficked over under false pretences.)

An example of SDs previous comments:

Examples of things Asian girls (restricted to the ones who cheated with the man and who may end up being a gf/new wife) bring to the table:

    - Inability to share jokes and dreams with the man due to language barriers and different backgrounds
    - Inability to communicate with the man/his friends/his family because of completely different culture - endless awkwardness
    - Being a complete embarrassment at any social function (his) because she just doesn't have anything to say for herself
    - "Sweet smiles" and "cuteness" because when you don't know what to say/think, just keep smiling!
    - Subservience - hell else she'll just become like those white chicks that her man's constantly complaining about!

She is clearly including my wife in this category so I think I have reason to despise her ignorance.

And yes I know she is asian herself, though that covers a pretty big area of the world. I'm guessing either Chinese or Indian but could be way out.

When did I say their qualifications were more impressive because they are DHs?

When did anyone in this thread make that point or implication?

How do you justify your comments in the post I copied above with the comment that you make your judgement based on what people are like?

No I would not like to meet you. I doubt that you could convince me you are not racist.

I do not believe the link between DHs and working girls slipped into your thread. I believe it was either deliberate or just the way you view people.

Oh. I asked this some pages before without getting an answer. Makes my quote sort of stupid. Please replace with any real below-average uk university of your liking.

I believe that the problem usually resides in the clay and not the mold. You don't learn any better at Harvard or Oxford but you certainly get to meet the right people and show off the nice paper.

    Hull

Believe you me SD is as far removed from a racist as you could possibly get, She's a personal friend of mine and many others on the boards.

Sorry, I can only judge her on what she says on here and I do not like what she says. Perhaps she is different with a few drinks of scotch inside her?
