From a local Hong Konger living in London (for 20 yrs) perspective:
London/England advantages
Friendlier people, better service, don't get shouted at when ordering food (unless in Chinatown)
Blue sky when not raining, cooler termperatures
Much better western food
Much bigger/nicer/better quality housing
Better coffee/coffeeshops
Better work/life balance
Better schools
More space, better outdoor activities, more things to do when going out, theatre museums etc
Better online shopping
Better banking systems/credit cards/contactless
Cheaper western luxury goods/furniture/homewares/cars
More daylight in summer
Hong Kong advantages
Much lower tax
Easier real world shopping, shops that open after normal work hours
Better Chinese food
Better/more choice for cheap eats
Better lifts
Better air conditioning
Better public transport
Cheaper Apple products
More daylight in winter
More efficient service
Can't we edit posts? Yes add better supermarkets to the England list! Although I do like Cafe de Coral, I still can't get used to sandwiches!
Hong Kong and mainland China have an abundance of public lavatories. My area in England has about the same number of public lavatories as a large Hong Kong shopping mall! There would be many more people in my area than in a Hong Kong shopping mall.
Nobody here has mentioned much about the people, or attitudes, or demographics of either country.
