I think that even though nothing works propebry here you are very close - via very cheap flights to all of europe that London really is a very good choice. I have lived in London for 14 years and am constantly finding new places to go. Housing can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. It is very common to rent a room in a shared house and you will have an instant social life. There are also lots of people who will take you out after work and introduce you to new places, esp if you are working for a big company. The weather is crap and the transport VERY frustrating but the culture and cosmopolitian mix here does make it a bgreat place to spend a few years. Having said all that we are hoping to be in HK by the end of this year !!!

Why not? 40% of HK is country parks - plenty here to choose from.

I know... It'd just be nice to stumble on some walking in the urban areas. I'm just being picky because I'm missing the English countryside in the summer

    Go to London

    Dude,

Just go to London and fulfill your destiny in life by getting a flat in Shepherd's Bush or Earl's Court. You will feel right at home in no time.

The beer in London is cheaper as well!

Go to Berlin. Everyone speaks English, and everything is better than in London (nightlife, food, weather, beer ...). There's an Australian restaurant in the Sony Centre.

Nah, on the other hand, just come to HK!

If you fancy struggling into work on an antiquated tube system, being greeted by armed police at the stations and being fleeced for tax then London is your bag!

I'm moving to HK in three weeks and I can't wait to get out of London having lived and worked here all my life.

I certanly won't miss paying GBP £220 a month commuting.

It really isn't the place it used to be only 10 years ago! Well done Tony Blair.
