A serviced suite place might offer cost savings over a hotel. While here, there's plenty to do but it depends on your interests. I also tell guests to explore the extremes...go from Central and Lan Kwai Fong to Sai Kung and Lamma. Nearby, Macau...enjoy!

    Hi Rasel

Answer to question what are the places to visit

    1) The Peak - you can see the view of HK in the night (there's a Western restaurant there but a little pricey)

    2) Ocean Park - its rather a long bus drive (1-2 hours I think) if you want to bring your family to a theme park

    3) Of course Disney land is now in HK too

    4) A few great beaches Lan Tau island, Tai Tam ad Shek O (hiking and stuff)

    5) You can also rent a boat/yatch to cruise around HK (if you like this, let me know I'll check out the details from my husband for you)

    6) Again, Macau - if you like casino

    7) An-our ferry away you can visit the south of China - Shen Zhen where you can shop like crazy with a cheap price (also cheap and good food, massage)

    8) Transportation in HK - MTR (underground train) or I suggest you take the tram (very unique in HK, and extremely cheap) but I believe only operate in HK side...I'm not sure about this)

Depends on what you like to do...if you can be more specific what you like to do I can give you more suggestions...like some people don't like outdoor activities, you know what i mean

Ok, hope this helps a little

    Dear Chris ,

    Thank's for your reply.

About staying in hotel , I like to know the below informations from you.

    1) Hotel Booking by internet / or by Travel Agent ?.
Can you please advice what is the economical way of booking hotel by internet or through a travel agent ?.

One of my friends said that we could get a better price by booking through travel agent not go directly to hotel or booking by internet.

If you advice through a agent , can you please give the contract details?.

Will you please advice on this.

    2) Hotel Cost :- We will be around 6 persons (Whole family). Our budget is around $200 / Day (3 room as 2x3=6). Is it Enough to get a decent hotel in this budget.

    3) Hotel / Appertment :- Is it possible to get a nice appertment for 2/3 day's .Or Hotel is better.
Actually the reason I asked about appertment is we prefer to cook by ourself.

    Please advice.

if your budget is $200HKD/day, forget it!

disney doesn't open until september 12 and will be $295/adult on weekdays and $395/adult on weekends(i think)

discovery bay is a residential area, not great for tourists (you may be able to rent a flat for around $500-600/day, if you want you can check out dbfleamarket.com
keep in mind though that transportation is expensive from db... expecially for 6 people....

    Yeah

USD200 might work, HKG200 is impossible...I just know what everything in Hk is expensive. If I make a wild guess that that would be USD 200/day

    1) I don't think Ocean Park is anything more better than Disney...thats what competition is about rite? If Disney can't be better and greater, they shouldn't be in business
But of course, Ocean Park is something authentic Hong Kong...keep that in mind as you are travelling to HK.

    2) Beach...hard to say... everywhere is crowded...except its a private beach..then its not our turn.....I don't like crowded place so, so far I haven't really found my favorite beach yet..thats why boat trip works for me....

    3) The cost of the boat is around HKG3,000/day (USD 500) but it can take up to 10 people...so its a good deal

    4) Macao- well, some family like it...i don't see any reason why its not appropriate for family...my family loves it...even though they hate gambling...just for sight-seeing, food, walk...its something you always see in movies...thats why its no harm to see it for yourself

    5) ShenZhen: yes you need a visa...if you have one week only, better apply it first. Since i have HK residency...everything is easy...as I can have an agent to do it at the port...I'm not sure whats the deal for tourists...again, prepare first is always best

Since you like shopping, you can go to Stanley market in HK (2-hr bus trip, right anyone???)
And don't miss "Ladies Market"...where you can get everything and bargain..but it is very very packed and be ready to sweat during this time

    Anything else?? Let me know
    Mina
