how do you look for jobs in Hk?

    Hey people,
can i ask you some questions regarding to job searching in hk?
I am a fresh college- grad from the U.S. I speak the local language Cantonese and English fluently. I have been using JOBSDB.com to look for jobs, no luck.
i am looking for professional jobs in banking and finance.
my questions to you are, do you know of any other recruitment website besides jobsdb.com?
whats your advice for job seekers like me?

i find JobsDB a bit rubbish to be honest. alot of the jobs advertised there are not great because its cheap and low risk for a company to put up any old job there.

The companies who really want to hire decent employees are more likely to pay and advertise in South China Morning Post.

HK is also home to some of the biggest financial institutions in the World. try going onto their website (preferably their HK site if possible) and then see if they have any vacancies or grad schemes going.

One little problem, he is only a college grad, sweet nothing relevant experience in one of the most challenging industries for getting into at the moment. Unless he is a tycoon's soon, he's going to find it difficult. Sorry!

If you are looking for a finance position, you should be (1) using your university's career services center as much as possible and (2) looking directly at financial institutions' web sites for info about their new graduate recruitment programs. It is quite uncommon for them to hire new graduates outsite of their structured recruiting programs.

i don't think the career services at my school is going to be any help. i am 10 thousand mils from my university. although my university is a big ten university in the midwest, i don't think that they have many alumni in HK.
but the website idea is good, thanks.

do you think it would help if i go to the local universities' career center website and look for job postings? but the problem with that is, i don't have the account and password for the sites.
