    Supermarket

Anyone looking for a really good Western Supermarket - meat, fresh vegies, all the American, UK, Oz brands plus quiet and good parking - Shouson Hill Plaza Park N Shop. Plus there are plenty of good specials each week so it is cheap than the boutique supermarkets in Hong Kong.

Other than the parking, how is it different from the 200-odd branches of P'n'S in HK? (People might want to know why the Shouson Hill branch is worth the trek to.)

Ah, but not all Park n Shops are created equal. I used to have a great one near me - huge, seafood counter, butcher, western magazines and newspapers, lots of Waitrose products, bizarrely. It was also nice and empty most of the time - its downfall, no doubt.

The main problem with the downmarket branches is finding anything remotely edible.

I must say that was my first thought too! But I supressed it just in case she's a kind individual who thought we needed this life changing info and used her one and only post to give it to us.....

Where the hell is this place anyway?

Because the P'nS there serves more Western Products that people may want instead of boiled duck feets or fried abalone scales for dinner. There is quality meats, a butcher, cheeses etc.

If you have ever been to a local area of HK I can assure you that all 200 P'n'S are not the same. Tell me how many have parking ? Just trying to be helpful - that is what these threads are about.

"The main problem with the downmarket branches is finding anything remotely edible." Spot on.

I personally prefer the selection at Parkview.
We go to Jardine's lookout the most coz it's quite and peaceful.
We go to the one on macdonald road so the kids can watch the carts ride up and down on the escalators.
we go to one at hopewell becoz we enjoy looking for our car and we love going around in circles.

Not all people have a car so, although parking is useful for those with private transportation, those without would appreciate knowing whether it is worth using public transport to shop there.

Yes, I have and yes I know that; hence my question. And I remember never buying frozen food because the supermarkets would turn off the freezers at night to save money.
