Question Will i find work as an artist?

My partner was recently offered a job in Hong Kong on a salary of 65K/month. We aren't married and therefore I believe the only visa I am eligible for where I can get some kind of work is the Working Holiday Visa. If we come over and I am unable to find work under the conditions of the Working Holiday Visa, will we be able to live comfortably just on his wage?

Also - what is the arts scene like in Hong Kong? I am a performance artist and have experience in events and arts management. I also have degrees in Theatre Performance and English Literature. Would I be able to find work?

Many thanks in advance for your response.

    Kat

Yes - 65K is over three times the median household income here.

Not sure about work in the performance art field. I guess thess is some, but that it doesn't pay very much.

Note that for a Working Holiday Visa you must be under 30 (I assume at the date you apply), and you can only have one of them for 12 months. After that you'd need to leave (or get married if your partner is of the opposite sex).

Thanks PDLM - I stupidly didn't mention however that we have a mortgage back home so after all those expenses are taken out we're looking at more like $46K/month. Still manageable?

I will ammend this in my initial post!

Still comfortably do-able so long as you don't go out partying every night.
