I'm using Netvigator. not the cheapest but is fast and reliable. They are always having promotions so you should be able to get an unlimited usage package with some free gifts if you decide to join.
I've been using Hong Kong Broadband for quite some time now, and I absolutely love it. And to think, I was this close to getting iCable.
Anyways, the price is something like HK$90 a month. Unlimited download & upload speeds, as far as I can tell anyways (and I've recently become a heavy user getting dozens of DVD quality movies).
The speed is fabulous, no-nonsense 10Mbps. You should be able to achieve 1.10-1.20 megabyte per second, real download speeds from servers within the city very easily.
The only downside is that you need to open up this small IE window to connect. I can give you step-by-step instructions to bypass always entering your name & password, and simply connect by dbl-clicking an icon, should you decide to go for this service.
Like Kev, I've been using PCCW's Netvigator. It may cost a little more than others, but its quick, reliable, and the customer service is pretty good. Others include So-net (www.so-net.com.hk) by Sony, and there's also HKNET (www.hknet.com). If you're living in a 'hutchison' or a 'cheung kong' developed building then you can even opt for HGC's broadband.
As far as I know, Netvigator, So-net, and HKNET are all ADSL Broadband, whereas I-cable and HKBroadband are both (Coaxial) Cable-based.
Hope this helps.
Hi
Thanks for the info. Picked up PCCW and the broadband is quite ok. However I am not able to down load my mails through outlook express and I have to go thru internet explorer for all my mails? I am using netvigator now .I am not able to down load my mails in yahoo and hotmail thru netvigator e-mail
Could some one educate me pl??
Sim
Well the e-mail PCCW gives you will be *****@netvigator.com, and you either download them from Internet Explorer or use outlook express ( not recomended). Another option is using Netscape Navigator which helpful too.Originally Posted by simhk:
