Post office and a few other questions

    1. Where is the best place to mail stuff and ship boxes?

    2. Is there a place to use a computer and print things out? Fax things, etc? Something like Kinkos in the states?

    3. What is a VCD or whatever those are called? If I want to get a DVD player is it worth getting one that plays VCD's? I dont know what those are.

    Thanks as always....

    1. If your talking about sending letters then post-office is the ideal place. Main post-office is in Central Star Ferry and as your staying in mid-levels you can take a taxi or a mini-bus which will take you down there. Shipping boxes is something me did'nt understand.

    2. You can goto a public library to use the computer and I think you have to pay for the print outs. Im not sure about the fax, but if it is local fax I have seen 7-11 providing the service.

    3. Ah technical question. DVD players is the most comon thing in hong kong, and all of them play the VCD too. However now the upgrade is coming for DVD too but let me not confuse you for that thing as it will take some more time. You can goto fortress and choose from the range available.

VCD aka video compact disc. The movies in VCD are stored mostly in mpeg format and you can make a Video CD disc at home on a Re-write able CD, though you need to have the CD-ROM which performs the function.
