I bought a ticket through online booking from ba.com and supposed to fly back to london on 6th of July. The ticket says that i cannot change my schedule. Is there a way to change the flight date to later date?

Just call BA here in HK or in the UK... If you catch a nice person on the phone I m sure he or she can help you.
Expect to pay a fee of about 1000 HK$ though.
There are a few reasons under which airlines *might* change tickets even if they're fixed dates... medical, death in the family etc ....
Call BA and have the ticket locator number (letters/number) and they'll tell you what can and can't be done. You will, more than likely, pay a fee for the change, but generally it isn't a problem.
well, its one of the reason why i dont book online tix these days despite the convenience. u lose the flexibility if u need to change
Only if you choose to buy that type of ticket. All the better online booking engines allow you to select from a variety of fare classes right up to "full fare". Cathay, for example, normally offers at least 4 or 5 different economy fare rates on its flights, and the most expensive can be three times (or even more) the price of the cheapest.Originally Posted by freeier:
not disagreeing with u, but for the same class of ticket if u book thru an agent u can usually hold it for a week or two without firming up. you also have a choice of going on the waiting list for a lower class of tix (which usually is given to u) that u cant have onlineOriginally Posted by PDLM:
Agree that having to ticket right away instead of reserving first, and not being able to waitlist while confirmed on a less preferred route are significant shortcomings of online booking engines at this time. It works well in certain conditions - e.g. you want to grab an available seat and fly. However, mostly I find travel agents have access to the same kinds of fares anyway. I tend to use online sites more for research on price, availability (and online check-in/seat assignment) than actual booking.
I agree wholeheartedly with both of the above - as economies pick up again waitlisting is a key requirement. Fortunately I am still just about managing to hold on to my CX Diamond Card, so (in economy at least) I can just book direct with CX on the phone at the cheapest published fare on my desired flight (regardless of whether it is nominally available). That is a great perk for regional travel. Unfortunately in business it only applies to full fare tickets.
I called the hong kong office and i told them that my grandmother is very sick (thank God she is in heaven, otherwise she would have killed me for lying) at home. They said that i need to fax them the medical certificate in order for the Manager to consider. I told them that she hasn't been to the doctor, as she doesn't like doctor, they wouldn't believe me. Is it ok to say that i had food poison and cancel the flight, will i be able to change the date that way?
