    Helicopter Crashes into the Harbor

AFP: Helicopter plunges into Hong Kong harbour

I was on the Star Ferry watching some of this. There were about six fireboats surrounding the area plucking people out of the water. The helicopter had emergency pontoons on it to keep it from sinking. As luck would have it they crashed just across from the fire departments pier where they keep the flagship ELITE and a few other vessels.

Is there a website / twitter for updates from the HKFD about incidents that occur every day? In the US and UK there are a growing number of fire departments that publish their call history on a regular basis (even hourly). Wasn't sure if something like this existed for HK.

Mr. Elle says 2 pilots and 11 passengers - that must be a AW139. The only company that operates them is Sky Shuttle, a sister company of Heli East Asia doing the Macau shuttle.

Mr. Elle adds that those helicopters (AW139) were only aquired during the last 2 years replacing the Sikorsky helicopters they operated before.
