Shenzhen Life?

I will be moving to Shenzhen and will hopefully be working in the Science-based Park in the Nanshan district.

Does anyone know where the ideal place is to get an apartment, where most expats live and socialise? I was thinking of Shekou because it has less high-rise towers, and better standard apartments.

I already had a thorougher look, just wondering if anyone had anymore updates, useful information about life in Shenzhen? Chinese cities are constantly changing, buiding here and there etc...
