Later looked out and saw that a beautiful tree on Tung Wah Hospital property came crashing down - split it seems.
Doesn't seem like it hit anyone but it was right up against Hong Ning House.

That's a real shame, as it gives more ammo to those people who want to remove trees on spurious safety grounds.
Trees in urban HK have it really hard with the pavements being dug up every few weeks and their roots constantly severed or disturbed.
I am amazed at the trees hanging on the walls here.
This one is right next to the lower part of hospital where they recently inducted their new President. I see there was scaffolding on the building face that was just going up today but see no evidence of anyone being hurt. Was in the midst of conducting an interview so didn't look out for some time after.
It was a gorgeous tree as are others on this street.
