Pure Life/Fitness in IFC/SoHo or California Fitness in LK?

    Hi all,

Which gym is worth checking out? I've been to both. but Pure Life seems to bethe best, though it's really expensive.

    So far:

    Pros of Pure Life:

    Equipment/People/cute instructers/near to home/office

    Cons:

Expensive/Don't know how often I will use.

    Pros of Cal:
    Much cheaper

    Cons:
    Not as near..

what are your takes on both gyms? do you know of any credit cards/good deals on either?

    Would really appreciate it.

The Pure Fitness on Hollywood Road is cheaper than IFC and its not as crowded as the California.

Go w/ Pure. If the extra money means you'll go more often, it's totally worth it.

I'd go with Pure. The LKF California Fitness is ridiculously crowded, and the equipment doesn't look like it's been replaced in awhile.

Have you looked at the Fitness First in Sheung Wan? That's a really nice, spacious gym.

I'm gonna check out the FF in Sheung Wan I think....my year at Season's is up and I no longer work near ICBC Tower, so I might as well check out a new gym..

newbee - i go to Pure on Hollywood and it's so much nicer than any of the other gyms i saw. i actually work in the same building as FF in Sheung Wan and still went with Pure. Pure does get crowded after work during the week but just as much as FF.

As for any deals - Pure has a deal with HSBC credit cards - interest free installments. I paid 2 years in advance and it was 599 a month with no sign up fee. if you have a HSBC card then that isn't too bad. otherwise it's 799 a month on a one year contract and 999 on a month to month.
