    Decent DIY store

Anyone know of a store selling good quality drill bits?
I need to drill some ceramic tiles and so need either a proper tile drill bit or a decent masonry drill bit. I’ve tried buying from some local stores in the past but they have always been cheap and nasty (managed to melt one drill bit before finishing the first hole).

I know very little about home hardware but have you tried WanChai Lockhart road where there're lot of home hardware stores ? Local tradesmen shop there.

Sheung Wan got a few hardware shops too but I'm not sure whether the shopkeeper speak english.

There is a trick you can try.
Put some paper tape on the point you have to drill and use a common drill bit.
    Hope it helps.

Had exactly the same question as you a couple of months ago. There's a bunch of small hardware shops that sell masonry drill bits and you can use the trick of taping the tiles as the other poster mentioned. I haven't been able to find ceramic drill bits in HK, but some other posters mentioned they could. Here's the other posting on this. Check it out:
