Somewhere not preachy and somewhere they don't ask you for donations several times every service.... I never mentioned crowded as being a problem.

No way, party's just begun.Big Panda

Perhaps hullexile is a religious one, and koreanmiss is just like me, easy going, don't take it personal tho. We didn't say all churches, but many churches. I have never been at churches in HK,so perhaps it might be different.
Anyway, if I donate, I donate a few times to Unicef (reach more and more people, and not based on their religion, race or whatsoever), or if you love environment, please to Greenpeace, and not to BP! As for donating to church, if you like it do it, I just prefer what makes sense to me.
Your new to this board aren't you if you need to ask if I am religious
My church is "preachy" and always asking for money but that is fine by me. A church that is not "preachy" is missing the point IMHO. A bit like non-alcoholic beer or decaff coffee. If you are going to have it you might as well go for the real thing. As far as money goes, well it depends what they need it for. My church caters almost entirely to domestic helpers with no outside help so you can imagine money is tight. Even churches have to pay rent, electric, gas, etc and the salaries of their paid workers.
When i go to church amongst orher things i certainly expect to be preached to.
