I need to find a hospital.

Hi, I need to find a good hospital. My insurance gave me a list of hospitals here in HK but I have absolutely no idea which one's the best -or which one isn't bad... I don't know, really.

The one's on the list are:
    -HK International Medical Clinic -Beijing.
-HK International Medical Center (IMC) -Beijing.
    -HK Adventist Hospital.
    -HK Baptist Hospital.
    -HK Central Hospital.

If you know one that is very good, I'd like to know it's name, even when it is not on the list. It is about a sort of serious matter, that's why it is epseically important that it is a good hospital -to find a good doctor. I know hospitals are pretty much the same, but I figured the best doctors had to concentrate somewhere, right?

    Thanks in advance.

    Any particular speciality?

Our son was born in the Adventist and have known several people who've been happy with them.

Most of the top doctors / specialists will be able to visit you at any of the hospitals. So, you can find a specialist independantly and then request them to treat you at a hospital of your choice if required.

Do you need a hospital or a doctor? there are a lot of good doctors who can refer you to a specialist for the benefit of an insurance company.
All the hospitals in HK are good. I too can vouch for the maternity section of Adventist and Prince of Wales.

I need and oncologyst. Do you know of anyone?
Or do you think it is safe to just tell the people in the Adventist Hospital to get me an appointment with "an" oncologyst?

From my experience with medical insurance companies- you would need a referral from a GP before they will cover you for a visit to a specialist.
If it's an emergency the doctor on duty in emergency will refer you.
If that is not the protocol you would be better going to a private specialist as opposed to a hospital. Some hospitals may have resident Onco's and some may give you the contact of the ones they deal with.
Dr. Cath Reynolds at on the 13th floor of the building which has 'Heaven on Earth' restaurant downstairs as well as a Starbucks and Page One bookshop is a GP who specialises in that area I think. It's Lord Fong's or something..

There are several Cancer Centers in Hong Kong. Adventist Hospital and Baptist Hospital, for example.

The Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin is the teaching hospital for the Chinese University in Hong Kong, which is also working on certain cancers.

There are also some websites regarding Cancer treatment in Hong Kong.
    Search google.

For a GP or a specialist you can also search www.hkdoctors.org

    Good Luck!
