Apparently one of the island can even seen from Hk's Po Toi Island on a clear day
Come on mate, many of the Wanshan Islands can be seen from various parts of HK, e.g. Lamma, the Peak, etc. A trip out to beaches there will take several days though.

Yes, i think thats the one... apparently there's like three beaches in that area or so?... Is it worth a day trip going out that way? And what are the practicalities in getting there from Sai Kung town?

    Cheers,

Just been to Shek O and i can say it is indeed quite nice! Mind you, i went in the weekday and there wasn't many people. Nice clean sand and a nice hilly landscape too (i didn't swim, so can't really comment on this). Even the bus ride was pleasant.

Also went to Deep Water Bay nearby, that was ok. Smaller beach, but felt "dirtier" to me somehow... I would suggest stay in Shek O and not make the trip to DWB.
