    Buddhist monks

These days I seem to keep coming across Buddhist monks at places I frequent... at a Tibetan restaurant in Beijing, at a fancy teahouse in Shenzhen, at Pacific Coffee in Wanchai, etc. etc.

I'm no Buddhist scholar, but aren't these people supposed to be leading ascetic lifestyles? There seems to be nothing separating my lifestyle from that of these monks other than the shaved head.
